What's the site like?

Goldfield Glamping is set on a private property with over 25 acres of bush land and a stunning creek borders the property. The car park is close to the tents, so no one has too far to walk.
We use solar lights both in the tents and to light your way in the dark.
We don’t have a lot of formal paths or concrete as this goes against our ethos of treading lightly on the environment.
If it rains, it gets muddy and is lush and green. When it's hot, it's dry and crisp and golden.
We don’t weed when the weeds flower so we can be as friendly to bees as possible.
What do I need to bring?

We’ve taken care of the glamping part, you just need to take care of the personal things that you need. We would recommend layers of clothes as it can be cold, particularly at night and early in the morning; comfy shoes or boots to go exploring in and weather appropriate coat.
What about food?

You can bring your own food (to bbq or cook in pans/frying pans) and drink or prebook food and wine. We can sometimes help you out if you haven’t prebooked but please don’t rely on that.
We have a range of catering options including a cheese board, a range of breakfasts and wine. Check out the options on our booking page.
We don’t provide ice unless you’ve bought your wine from us. Then the champagne, sparkling, rose or white wine will come in an ice bucket with ice.
If you wish to bring your own beer or wine, you can pick up ice in Daylesford or Newstead and we have some large plastic tubs you can borrow.
Do we have to bring salt and pepper and sauces?

We have a cabinet with the sort of things you just don’t want to pack for a single use. We have oil, salt, pepper, tomato sauce, brown sauce, bbq sauce, sweet chilli sauce and some dried herbs too. If theres something you’ve forgotten, we live on site and if we have it, we’re happy to share.
Its a special occasion, can you help arrange something extra?

Of course, it would be our pleasure. We can arrange a hamper, champagne and flowers or a picnic. Just get in touch and we'd love to help. If you’d rather order flowers yourselves, we recommend Handpicked Floristry, Castlemaine who will deliver to our site so the flowers are waiting for you.

Do you have disabled facilities?

Indeed we do. One of our bathrooms is fully compliant. If you need access to this bathroom please let us know when booking. You will need to book either Rush or Leaf depending on the size of tent you want. They are the closest tents to access this bathroom.

Is there a fire pit?

We do have a fire pit which can be used subject to local fire restrictions. Our comfortable adirondack chairs were locally hand made. We encourage marshmallow toasting and smores making, in fact, we'll even provide the marshmallows!

What about wildlife?

There's a lot of wildlife around with kangaroos, wombats and ecidnas are frequent visitors. They are nocturnal so you might hear them rather than see them unless you're up very early. There are also some amazing birds
and bug spray (but if you forget these, we have some you can purchase).

If we want to go out for dinner, where do you recommend?

You need to be aware that we are 10km from Newstead where you can get a pub meal and 20km from Hepburn and Daylesford where you have lots of options for places to eat. We will send you a link to our guidebook once you book of all the places we love. We try them all out regularly to make sure they are still great enough for us to recommend and we appreciate feedback from guests too.
A taxi is possible but is an expensive option from our off the beaten track site. There are currently no Ubers in the area.

What are the check in and check out times?

Our normal check in time is between 4pm and 6pm
Check out is 11am.
Can I check in early or check out late?

As a small site we have a tight turn around between guests as we need to clean the tents, bathrooms and bbqs.
We may be able to help you with an early check in or late check out but this cannot be guaranteed. A fee may apply.

We still want to know more about the property?

We are an Eco Friendly property.
Our property is totally off grid.We have a worm farm septic system and solar panels that provide all of our electricity, water for showers and toilets been collected from the roof of the barn and house. Filtered water for drinking is provided for each tent.
The bathrooms have power points, lighting and fans powered by solar panels. Whilst lighting in each of the five tents is provided by rechargeable portable lamps. Being green doesn’t mean we have to be any less luxe.
